Water is clearer on farm – Iron reduced

What was the problem?

For this Dairy farmer on the West Coast, the Iron in the water was rusting in and around his Dairy Shed. Pipes and pumps were blocking up and it was increased cost to fix and repair.

What was the solution?

One HydroBoost unit was installed on the incoming water supply in 2025 at the pump shed - approximately 1.25km away. A second unit was installed in to one of the 30,000 litre water tanks at the Dairy platform. There were no filters to install/change, chemicals nor additives required.

What were the benefits?

There were 3 key benefits;

Pipes and Pumps had the inside walls cleaned out over time - this meant the cost to repair and replace water infrastructure has been reduced
Cows are more keen to drink the water with the water troughs cleaner. When the cows drink more [good] water, potentially milk production increases. This farmer has seen a 5% increase over the 2024.25 year.
