What was the problem?
This farmer faced problems with Oxygen Weed growing in his irrigation pond and blocking the suction intake for the pivot irrigator.
As well as blocking the suction, it also caused the pump to work harder, (reducing it’s life) and Oxygen Weed was blocking the pivot nozzles.
River Snot was also growing which was a real pain.
What was the solution?
A HydroBoost unit was installed on a floating platform in the pond. It was powered up from the pump shed using an existing 240v power supply and turned on.
The HydroBoost unit pulses a frequency into the water increasing the volume of Dissolved Oxygen levels. The higher levels make it difficult for the Oxygen Weed to grow – and all without any chemicals, additives or moving parts.
What were the benefits?
The HydroBoost solution has saved the farmer considerable costs and time to clean the suction intake, motor and unblocking nozzles in the pivot. As well, the water is cleaner, looks good and is swimmable, (sometimes quite handy on a very hot day). In addition, the farm is looking to reduce it’s environmental footprint by using a spraying contractor. The contractor has noticed the difference with the water – it’s smoother, cleaner and reduces blockages in his equipment. Check out the video to hear about the results.
