What was the problem?
This Effluent pond, (roughly 1,800m2 surface) had a HydroBoost unit installed in Feb 2022. It was working well with reductions in NPK concentrations till a power surge to the Dairy Farm damaged the HydroBoost unit in Nov 2022. With the HydroBoost not operational, scum and floaties quickly built up on the pond surface.
What was the solution?
A new HydroBoost unit was installed on Feb 1st, 2023.
What were the benefits?
Firstly, the pond scum dissolved within 15 days. The surface was once again clear and clean.
As well as cleaning up the pond surface, one additional benefit was the reduction in nozzle blockages for the underslung effluent deployment. According to farm staff, blockages are now down to a single event every six months. This saves wasted time and ensures a consistent spread of effluent across pasture.

Next steps
